P-Series / HeliCommand Profi

Autopilot for professional applications (e.g. aerial photography, filming, surveillance or monitoring), commercial and industrial or highly valuable helicopters.
Multiple novel control and measurement systems are included and offer a
distinguished degree of stabilisation, completely independent of the visible horizon.
Characteristics are the unmatched quality of stabilisation with a simultaneous control by the pilot, compact design and low weight; all this made affordable. With it's sophisticated software, the system offers highest reliability.
Applications:
- For industrial (or highly valuable) helicopters, for a maximum of precision and reliability
- For commercial use, e.g. aerial photography, fi lming, surveillance and monitoring
- Safety function, reduction of crash risk
- Ideal training aid; when set to maximum stabilisation, the system makes it possible to learn the art of helicopter flying without help of an advanced pilot
- Ideal assistance for long-range fl ights, when manoeuvring in cramped conditions, in bad sight conditions and when flying via video link vision
Included instruments:
- High quality instruments for attitude stabilisation in all axis (complete "inertia control system")
- Two additional redundant optical systems (image evaluation) for drift control and geographical positioning, totally independent from GPS
- Altitude control (barometric and infrared ground distance) and stabilisation up to 2500m NN;
accuracy up to ca. 0,1m in calm conditions or 1,5 m in fast forward flight or windy conditions - Add-on possibility for GPS and compass module (NOW AVAILABLE !)
Technical features:
- High level reliability thanks to multipple independent instrument systems and sophisticated software
- Geographical position stabilisation up to 20-30m, in wind up to 8m, with a new kind of optical sensing process, i.e. far more than “inertial control” or tilt stabilisation
- Attitude stabilisation (inertial control) with artificial horizon and electronic triple axis gyro based on high quality drift free SMM gyros
- Can also be used in built-up areas
- Instruments can be activated individually, variable stabilisation rates
- Robust and weatherproof aluminium housing
- Integral vibration damping and shock absorption
- High quality failsafe funktion (PPM/FM receiver); fully automatic landing option if radio link fails (PCM receivers can be confi gured in such a way that a failed radio link causes maximum stabilisation to be activated at the “full” setting; the helicopter takes up a stationary position)
- Infrared ground distance measurement (below 2m altitude)
- Accurate, ultra-smooth hover stabilisation
- Darkness adaptation of the positional measurement
- Expanded safe temperature range
Also included hardware:
- 4 optical imaging systems
- Accelerometers acting on 3 axis
- 3 high wuality SMM gyros
- Second redundant CCD sensor
- Barometric altitude measurement
More functions included:
Tail gyro:
The HeliCommand Profi includes a high quality, drift-free SMM Heading-Lock gyro (AVCS).
Swashplate mixer:
A swashplate mixer for (H1, HR3 120°/140°, H4 90°/90°+45°) is also included, as well as virtual swashplate rotation and servo linearisation, for compensation in case of angular displacement when using a H4 linkage.
Rigid stabilisation:
RIGID-mode for stabilising flybarless rotor heads (2- and multi-bladed heads), highly effective in preventing ballooning and tuck-under in high speed and in gusty conditions.
Auto-Trim function:
Another feature iis the automatic trim function. One push button on the transmitter completes all trim works and neutralises the three control axis elevator, aileron and tail very precise and automatically. This only needs to be carried out once after installation of the autopilot. Trimming can also be used when flying manually and makes the handling more easy.
Failsafe:
We recommend transmitters of highest quality. When using programmable receivers, these can be configured in such a way that a failed radio link causes maximum stabilisation to be activated at the “full” setting; the helicopter takes up a stationary position, followed by a slow descend and automatic landing.
(for PPM/FM receivers without failsafe function an additional safety system is included, switching to position hold mode in case of failed radio link or similar problems).
Adjustment:
Individual configuration to the linkage type of the helicopter is included, but can be easily carried out by the customer himself; adequate know-how assumed. PC adaptor (RS232) and software included.
Technical data:
Operating voltage: 4,8 - 7 Volt (4-5 NC)
Current drain: aprox 200 mA at 5V
Weight incl. leads: 220 g
Dimensions: height 85mm; diameter 74mm
